The 2011 Geneva Auto Show will see the elegant second generation Mercedes Benz CLS class, in a heavy metal genre. Tuned by BRABUS, the German tuning firm specially for three pointed grille ring. The four door super luxury coupe is tuned in many different areas like exterior and interior design, aerodynamics, suspensions, wheels and tires, exhaust and at last various performance kits for engines.

Starting from aerodynamics, the new CLS is even more lowered than the standard version. It has got aerodynamic modifications in front spoiler, front apron caps, fenders which are lowered and rear spoiler which gives perfect aerodynamic balance and provides dynamic character to the car’s design.

The suspensions are of two types, one of which is spring and the other is AIRMATIC. Spring version lowers the body upto 30 mm, creating a firm setting but yet comfortable with BRABUS tuned dampers. The semi-active AIRMATIC version lowers the body upto 35 mm.

The BRABUS CLS will have BRABUS Monoblock wheels in sizes ranging from 8.5Jx17 to 10.5Jx20. The OEM-quality alloys are available as one-piece and three piece wheels in six different designs. The most exclusive of which is the Monoblock VI, E and S with the latest edition Monoblock F wheels. The largest tires are 255/30 ZR 20 in front and in size 305/25 ZR 20 for the rear axle by Pirelli and YOKOHAMA.

The BRABUS CLS 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY model equipped with BRABUS ECO PowerXtra D4 performance kit delivers an additional 31 bhp and produces a peak torque of 560 Nm. For the CLS 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY BRABUS offers the ECO PowerXtra D6S tuning kit. Here, with the 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission driver can floor the pedal with the help of selected shift program.

In ‘Eco’ mode only the peak torque is increased from 620 Nm to 690 Nm. If the ‘Sport’ mode is selected manually or activated automatically both peak torque and power output are increased. Maximum rated power output then jumps from 261 bhp to 309 bhp. Using this setting, the tuned turbodiesel model sprints from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.9 seconds. Top speed is limited electronically to 250 kmph.
