Rinat Leonidovych Akhmetov (Sep 21, 1966) is a Ukrainian business oligarch, owner and president of SCM Holdings, as well the president of the Ukrainian football club Shakhtar Donetsk. He graduated from Donetsk National University with a degree in economics in the mid 1990s.
Akhmetov became the head of Donetsk City Bank and a specialist in the banking sector. In 1996 he became the president of the football team, FC Shakhtar and has held this post since then. Akhmetov founded System Capital Management Group (SCM) in 2000, and it has grown to be one of Ukraine’s leading financial and industrial firms with revenues of $8.151 billion dollars in 2009.
According to Forbes' 2010 The World's Billionaires rating, Rinat Akhmetov was the 148th richest man in the world with a net-worth of $5.2 billion.
