The Bugatti Veyron may be the fastest production car on earth but it ain’t the prettiest. First of all its got fat buttocks and a goppingly ugly front end. Volkswagen wanted to prove a point to the world with the Veyron and now they are back. This time the company wants to break their own record, not of outright speed rather, looks. Even in concept form the 16C Galibier looks extremely awful.
Its a Bugatti product that will seat four in comfort and promises to embarrass them to death. Being a Bugatti, it won’t come cheap and if you ask me, spending a fortune on a car (or whatever that is) whose looks make you feel sick every time you spot it parked in the garage of you billion dollar mansion is a complete no-no.
Well, now lets get over criticizing the looks and talk a bit about the powerplant (read) supercharged Chernobyl. Unlike the Veyron, the Galibier has a W16 engine with two-stage superchargers in place of the quad-turbos. Still, the superchargers blow out 1000 bhp and 0-100 kph time of under 3.5 sec. According to Bloomberg the 16C Galibier will be launched 2013 or 2014 and will cost around $1.4 million. This is one car I am not looking forward to even if were to come with an on board spa.
