Sunrisers Hyderabad is a cricket franchise based in the city of Hyderabad that plays in the Indian Premier League. The team was founded on 25 October 2012 to replace the Deccan Chargers after the latter were terminated by the IPL Governing Council. The team is owned by the Sun TV Network.
Sources say that Kumar Sangakkara would not be the captain, because of an injury, hence vacating the post for a captain. Their logo was unveiled on December 20, 2012, along with the announcement that the team's management would be led by Krishnamachari Srikkanth, Tom Moody and VVS Laxman.Sunrisers Hyderabad will replace Deccan Chargers from IPL 2013 onwards.
